All needs are subject to stipulations. Assistance is provided on a first come, first served, case-by-case basis, as funds are available.
How it works
From your first form to funds, in four steps.
We cut through red tape to shorten the time between your request and the help you receive.

Complete the Client Assistance Form
Tell us about the client, the diagnosis, and the financial needs. It takes about 10 minutes online.

We follow up with a phone call
A short evaluation by phone, in most cases 15 to 20 minutes, Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Your physician confirms the diagnosis
We send a one-page Confirmation of Condition. Your physician writes out the diagnosis and returns it to us.

Funds are released
Once we receive the confirmation, we can release funds toward the approved needs.

Our story
Started by a survivor who saw needs no one was meeting.
In 1993, Rock Mangus was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. During his own treatment he met patients with real financial needs that simply weren't being met. In November 1994 he founded Mission of Hope Cancer Fund to change that.
Our philosophy hasn't changed since: someone facing cancer should be able to focus their time and energy on recovery, not on the bills that come with treatment.

All funds raised benefit individual Michigan cancer patients and their families. Funds are never used for research.
The Rock E. Mangus Cancer Survivors Scholarship
Educational support for students whose education has been impacted by their own cancer diagnosis or that of an immediate family member. Awards of $250 to $500 per school year, renewable for up to four years.
