Rock E. Mangus Scholarship

Keeping education within reach, after cancer.

The Rock E. Mangus Cancer Survivors Scholarship Fund supports students whose education has been significantly impacted by a cancer diagnosis, their own or that of a financially supportive family member.

How it started

A founder's second way to give back.

Rock E. Mangus, founder of Mission of Hope Cancer Fund, was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer in February 1993. As a survivor, he dedicated himself to helping others facing cancer through direct financial assistance.

Rock saw one more way MHCF could support patients and their families: helping those who want to go to college. That idea became the Rock E. Mangus Cancer Survivors Scholarship Fund.

Purpose

To provide educational support to youth, young adults, and adults returning to college who have had a cancer diagnosis, or whose immediate family member has.
